One Month Old!

Sam is one month old today!  He's growing so fast.  Some recent developments:
  •  He has just outgrown newborn size clothing (with the exception of a couple outfits), and as of a week and a half ago, no longer fits in newborn size diapers comfortably.
  • He is great at holding his head up and moving it back and forth to look around, although sometimes when he's tired he bobs his head all over the place.  He also does this when he's hungry...we call it "bobbing for boobie" LOL
  • He takes baths in his tub now and LOVES IT!
  • His very worst enemy in this world is the aspirator.  He screams bloody murder when you suck boogers out of his nose.
  • Sam LOVES car rides and falls asleep instantly when you pull out of the driveway.
  • He loves background noise when he sleeps...this kid could sleep through a tornado.  Before Sam got here we were worried about Chandler's piercing howl and if it would wake the baby...HE DOESN'T EVEN FLINCH!  LOL  On the soon as it's silent, he wakes up.  This means lots of nights camped on the couch with the t.v. on so Mommy can catch a few Z's.  Daddy also downloaded some "womb sound" noises that seem to do the trick too.
  • If you put your hand or a toy in front of his face and move it back and forth, he'll follow it with his eyes and will turn his head.
  • His favorite place to be interacted with is on his changing table.  He loves getting his diaper changed and is happiest when on his changing table.
  • He's starting to show interest when you talk to him.  His eyes get very big when you're talking to him or show him a toy.  My baby is no longer a newborn vegetable!  Hooray!!!
Things we're looking forward to:
  •  Cooing
  • Smiling
  • Giggling

25 days and counting...

It's been three and a half weeks since we brought our little Nugget into the world.  One sleepless night has blurred into another and I'm not really sure where the last 25 days have gone...but I can tell you one thing - this little guy is the apple of our eye and we are head over heels in love!

John spent two of the last three weeks with us at home.  I don't know what I would've done without him!  For someone with no experience with babies, you wouldn't know it - he's a total natural and I can't brag enough about how good he is with Sam.  It was so nice to have that time to get adjusted to life as three and share it with each other before jumping back into the swing of things.

When it was time for Daddy to go back to work, my mom came down for a week to visit and help out.  I'm not sure what I would've done without her either...she is a morning person EXTREMIST and sometimes wakes up as early as 3:30am!!!  Needless to say that was perfect with my night owl schedule - I would stay up super late with Sam and Grandmom would take over just before my head hit the floor.

After my mom left, John's mom came to visit for a long weekend.  Having these Grandmoms and Mom-Mom's in town was GREAT!  John's mom helped me get some much needed naps, showers and even watched Sam while Daddy and I snuck out for a hot date - the grocery store.  lol

Here are some updated photos from the past couple weeks:

Introducing Samuel John DiNardo!

On September 30th, we welcomed our sweet baby boy into this world.  Hands down the best day of my life.  I honestly didn't know people were allowed to be this happy.  I could not be more in love with my little family.  Here are just a few of millions of photos to come:

20.5 hours of labor...but every second was worth it!

Daddy's Little Boy

My little family.  :)

Sam had a little jaundice and had to get supplemented formula feedings and sleep on a UV light bed at the hospital for a little while.  He's doing great now.  This picture is Daddy's first time feeding Sam.

Settled in at home.

I call him my little pterodactyl...why?  Because most newborns have a sweet little lamb cry - not my child!  He screeches like a large prehistoric bird.  It is PIERCING!

I love when he's all wrapped up in his cocoon.

Daddy is IN LOVE!!!
